# Aquatics: Westlake Water Solutions and NACCHO to Present at WAHC in Portland

Representatives from [Westlake Water Solutions](https://www.westlakewatersolutions.com/) and [The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO)](http://www.naccho.org/) will present at the National Swimming Pool Foundation’s (NSPF) World Aquatic Health**TM** Conference.
Individuals who attend this session will get an in depth look at pool and spa facility inspections and findings. Specifically, the presentation and will reveal hurdles associated with those inspections, areas that are most commonly cited as deficiencies at commercial pools, and ways in which best practices can be implemented to encourage pool operators to maintain their facilities within state and local aquatic health codes at all times.Conference, which is being held October 8-10, 2014 in Portland, Oregon. Frank Schiffman, Westlake Water Solutions senior marketing manager and Jennifer Li, M.H.S., the director of environmental health and health and disability at NACCHO will be leading a session titled “Looking for Trouble—Seeing Eye-to-Eye with Health Inspectors” on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10 a.m.
The content for this session is based on information uncovered through an extensive survey of city and county health inspectors across the United States, conducted earlier this year as a partnership between NACCHO and [Westlake Water Solutions Products Group](https://www.westlakewatersolutions.com/), which is the manufacturer of the [Accu-Tab® Chlorination System](https://www.westlakewatersolutions.com/products/accu-tab-chlorination-systems). The survey concentrated on local health departments’ protocols and experiences in inspecting recreational water facilities in their jurisdictions.
“For those in the Aquatics industry this will be eye-opening information that is both sobering, and full of opportunity,” said Frank Schiffman. “If you are a pool operator, you will certainly want to know what health inspectors are looking for when they conduct an inspection, commonly cited deficiencies, and how to keep your facility in compliance year round.”
“Surveying these professionals’ protocols and experiences in inspecting thousands of recreational water facilities allowed Westlake Water Solutions and NACCHO to delve into the quality of pool water at a significant cross-section of facilities in varying geographies throughout the country, “ said Li. “The study was designed to better understand the inspectors’ procedures and observations related to water maintenance and the chemicals used in treating recreational water.”
The presentation of this study aligns well with the overall goals of the conference. The annual World Aquatic Health™ Conference spotlights issues and solutions to promote more people living healthier lives using pools, hot tubs, and aquatic venues and to help this field gain in relevance. Conference sessions focus on a spectrum of drowning, illness, injury and liability prevention topics and aquatic health benefits. Leading thinkers and influencers in the Aquatics industry attend the WAHC.
